THE FARM HOUSE

IMG_20160811_102611.jpg

The ancient stone farm house is divided in two separate, entirely autonomous living units. While we reside in the smaller unit on the ground floor, we rent out the ca. 160 m² unit on the first floor, which includes 4 bedrooms (3 doubles + 1 single), 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen/dining room.

The two units share all outdoor spaces and facilities. Part of the land around the house is closed off to prevent stray animals (such as boars) from visiting. The enclosed garden - including terrace, bbq and swimming pool - is great to unwind and take in the incredible panorama, but you may also choose to wander around the unenclosed olive grove. And, during harvesting season... feel free to help us pluck the olives! :)

PRACTICAL INFO

Casa dell'Ulivo is perfectly positioned to explore the most genuine part of Umbria - Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Spello, Montefalco, Bevagna, and Todi are all within 40-50km of the house, and there are plenty of convents and medieval villages all around, with Montecastello di Vibio merely 4km away.

Unless you are traveling with a donkey or a horse (which, by the way, we strongly encourage and are more than willing to sort out accommodation for too), a motorized vehicle is indispensable to get around - Umbria is still a fairly unspoilt part of Italy and the villages are not well connected by public transport. For regular supermarkets and shops you will need to go to Fratta Todina or Marsciano, about 8-10km away.

The nearest airport is in Perugia, 40km from the house, and serves quite a few low cost companies that have car rental facilities too. Alternatively, the airport of Rome (Fiumicino) is about 170km away.
